Voi kicks-off in-person educational safety events across the UK

We are seeing a growing demand for e-scooters across the 18 cities and towns where we have trials, with over 2.5 million rides being taken since the beginning of the trials. This is in line with the recent report, which revealed the e-scooters have four times higher uptake rate than bike rental schemes.

As more people adopt this green mode of transport, Voi continues to invest in rider education. While online webinars continue to take place, now that the lockdown is easing, Voi is rolling out a series of in-person safety events across the major cities where its trials are taking place.

Events are aimed at new and existing riders, and during these sessions, they can familiarise themselves with our vehicles and receive ride demonstrations and training on how to ride and park an e-scooter safely – including road safety tips developed in partnership with DriveTech. Attendees will be able to redeem credits for completing the online traffic school #RideLikeVoila, and they will receive a free Voi helmet for completing the in-person training.

Those joining the safety events can also take advantage of exclusive discounts from Voi partners such as Proviz, which they can use to purchase discounted hi-visibility clothing and accessories.

Birmingham, Liverpool and Portsmouth were the first cities to host the events last week, and upcoming events are now open for bookings in Northampton (4th June), Bath (10th June) and Southampton (11th June), with more to be announced in the upcoming weeks.
