Our future outlook

Building the 15-minute city

– a path to sustainable urban living

Imagine a city where everything you need is just a 15-minute walk or ride away. The 15-minute city concept reimagines urban living, creating neighbourhoods that prioritise people over cars, fostering stronger communities and reducing environmental impact. It’s a vision of convenience, sustainability and well-being, where daily life is enriched by shorter commutes, cleaner air and vibrant local connections.

At Voi, we’re strong advocates of this transformative approach to urban development and believe shared micromobility plays a vital role in enhancing public transportation networks, making the 15-minute city a reality.

OUR VISION:

Cities made for living

At Voi, we believe in a future where cities thrive as roads are reclaimed for people. Our vision is an urban mobility model that prioritises community and sustainability over individual car use.

We aspire to a tomorrow in which city dwellers live and move in safe, healthy environments, free from pollution, noise and stress – a future where shared mobility and circularity are the norm, and everyone collaborates to create more livable cities for all.

OUR MISSION:

Safe, sustainable micromobility

Our mission is to lead the way in sustainable transport by offering safe, accessible and reliable micromobility solutions. Through cutting-edge technology and constant innovation, we’re reducing car dependency and improving urban life.

We collaborate with city governments and local communities to build infrastructure that supports fossil-free mobility while taking full responsibility for reducing our climate impact.

Cities reimagined

Stockholm – Sveavägen

Sveavägen, a bustling main road in central Stockholm with up to five lanes of traffic, has long been dominated by cars and pollution. Together with JAJA Architects, we propose transforming it into a green spine – a vibrant, sustainable alternative to the traditional urban roadway.

This green spine would prioritize walking, biking, micromobility, public transport and delivery cargo bikes, creating a safer and more accessible space for everyone. It would also offer a calmer, more inviting environment for people to gather and enjoy, turning the heart of Stockholm into a thriving, people-centered cityscape.

Marseille – Rue Paradis

Marseille’s transport corridors between the city centre and its suburbs are primarily car-oriented, making it challenging to promote micromobility.

To tackle this, the proposal for Rue Paradis includes reducing car traffic to a single one-way lane and establishing a mobility hub to connect micromobility with bus services. The plan also introduces a dedicated cycle lane, separated from traffic by a ‘flex zone,’ created by repurposing 50% of the existing parking spaces.

Seamless integration across modes

Micromobility and public transport can work seamlessly together to create a smooth, efficient, and sustainable way to move through urban spaces. This integration reduces traffic, lowers emissions, and makes daily commutes faster and more convenient.

By combining the strengths of shared micromobility and public transport, we can build greener, more connected, and accessible cities for everyone to enjoy.
